jumpstart - grades 5-6

Jumpstart is a mid-week club for 5th and 6th Grade Students that will motivate them to put into practice all the good stuff they’ve been learning about what it means to follow God with their life.

X3watch is a free accountability software program helping with online integrity.Whenever you browse the Internet and access a site, which may contain questionable material, the program will record the site name, time, and date the site was visited. A person of your choice (an accountability partner) will receive an email containing all possible questionable sites you may have visited within the month.

February 10 - with the grade 12's in the youth centre
February 24 - NO LIFE GROUPS - Jr High @ EPIK / Sr High @ Laser Quest
March 2 - with the grade 7's in the youth centre
March 16 - with the grade 8's in the youth centre
March 16 - NO LIFE GROUPS FOR SR HIGH - we are at LYC @ AMBROSE
April 13 - with the grade 9's in the youth centre
April 27 - with the grade 10's in the youth centre
May 11 - with the grade 11's in the youth centre

NEW - we will be providing some space for our Life Groups to hangout in throughout the coming year.  These nights are designed to bring the entire grade together (guys and girls) ... and for those youth to invite their friends to hang out in the youth room for an evening and to develop frienships within a mid-sized group format.  These nights will still be from 7:30-9:30pm and will be hosted by the youth's Life Group leaders.  Food will be provided by the Youth Ministry Dept.  Come on out and bring some friends!

All Life Group evenings start at 7:30pm and run till 9:30pm.

what are life groups?

We weren't meant to do life alone. We truly believe that and therefore we want to give you an opportunity to team up with others in this thing called life and join a Life Group.  It's your chance to know God, love others and serve the world with a group of guys/girls your age. We want to create a comfortable place to discuss, ask questions, and explore this thing called faith and so we meet in your homes, eat snacks provided by the host homes and have our youth leaders (2 per group) lead the evening.  This is a great opportunity to get connected to youth, leaders, your community, the church and God.  Take a look at this year's Life Group brochure and parent letter.  We'd love to have you join us this year in one of our Life Groups.

Note - this year we are striving to create a know God (upward), love others (inward) and serve the world (outward) focus.  Therefore a new thing that will be taking place within Life Groups this year is a mission/outward focus.  We will be asking of and encouraging each Life Group to pray and think about what their mission focus will be for the year.  It could be volunteering at The Seed once a semester, visiting the Edgemont Seniors Center, running a community bbq in one of your communities, serving hot chocolate in the winter down at Bowness Park, helping out in one of our various compassion ministries here at the church, sponsoring a child through Impact Ministries/World Vision/or Compassion...and the opportunities go on.  It is our desire to be a church that exists to glorify God by changing the world that is into the world that ought to be as we create pathways for people to...Know God, Love Others and Serve the World.  May His Kingdom come and His will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven!
